Juan grew up in the Rio Grande Valley in the small town of Hidalgo, Texas. He has a bachelor's degree in Dietetics, however, as a children's author he is able to express his lifelong passion for art and storytelling. In his free time, Juan likes to hike, run, play soccer, and most of all spend time with his family.

Juan currently still resides in The Lone Star State with his lovely wife and son.

At the beginning of 2025, I was set to be a first-time father, and I wanted to express the joyous gift God had given me. So, I decided to write a letter to my son, telling him how happy, excited, and anxious I was to welcome him into my life. What originated was something short and sweet but straight from the heart. Then, I had the crazy idea of transforming the words to my son into a children’s book. I gave great consideration on how I wanted the illustrations to be. I determined that they had to be simple. My vision for the illustrations was that the art should enhance the words without overtaking their significance. I want the reader’s imagination to take over and create their own meaning using the essence of the words and illustrations.
